What we provide

Accommodation, and the management that goes with it

A room in a shared house, kept safe and kept working, with the support that helps someone hold on to it.

The accommodation

Single rooms in ordinary residential houses, furnished, with shared kitchen, bathroom and living space. Each resident has their own room and their own key.

Residents live under a licence to occupy. It is not a tenancy and does not grant exclusive possession of the whole property, but it is a proper legal agreement and it protects them: we cannot simply ask someone to leave, and we will never lock anyone out or remove belongings unlawfully.

Housing management

This is what makes supported accommodation different from an ordinary let. In practice it means the building is kept safe and working, the agreement is managed properly, and someone is paying attention to how each resident is getting on.

It covers the tenancy or licence itself, repairs and maintenance, safety and compliance, regular contact with residents at a level agreed for each person, and the benefits and rent administration that sits behind a placement.

All of it is recorded. Records are available to residents, funders, commissioners and inspectors on request.

Housing-related support

Alongside the accommodation, we work with each resident on a plan built around what they want to achieve — usually keeping the accommodation, managing money and benefits, building daily living skills, staying safe at home, and in time moving on.

The plan is made with the person rather than about them, reviewed regularly, and reported to whoever is funding the placement.

Exempt accommodation

Our schemes are supported (exempt) accommodation. We provide the accommodation and the intensive housing management that goes with it. Care, support or supervision is provided on top, and funded separately.

We keep those two things clearly apart in our records. That is what a Housing Benefit assessor needs to see, and it is the honest way to describe what we do.

What we do not provide

Personal care, nursing, medication administration and clinical treatment are outside what we do. Where a resident needs any of these, they come from a separate, appropriately regulated provider, and we work alongside them.
